Huawei goes luxe with MateBook

Huawei's MateBook - Huawei is jumping in to the 2-in-1 market using the 12-inch MateBook, its response to the Microsoft Surface and also the iPad Pro.

With Alcatel also unveiling its very own Home windows 10 tablet in the Mobile World Congress and Samsung announcing the Universe TabPro S 2-in-1 in the Electronic Devices Show captured, it appears that this is actually the year non-traditional PC-makers are attempting their hands at cracking the Home windows 10 tablet market.

Huawei is attempting to accept luxe route using the MateBook, by providing an associated keyboard situation with genuine leather as well as an aluminium unibody.

At its booth, there have been leather- crafting demos, and MateBooks were creatively splayed on your wall alongside tableaus like wooden mannequin hands with cufflinks.

The MateBook looks fabulous, with 10mm bezels and gemstone- cut chamfered sides. It weighs in at just 640g, in comparison to the 766g from the Surface Pro 4. Specs-wise, it's available online for using the best, having a Core M7 processor, 8GB of RAM and 512GB of SSD storage.

Moving it had been a quick, seamless and responsive experience.

Overall, it's a great first crack in the 2-in-1 market. However, I saw proof of an initial-gen product.

For example, as the keyboard situation looks elegant with big enough keys and good key travel, I discovered it a little more flimsy compared to keyboard at first glance Pro 4.

The MatePen, a stylus-cum-laser pointer with 2,048 amounts of pressure, also feels less sturdy compared to Apple Pencil and I needed to press lower really hard for it to create more dark lines.

However these are minor quibbles to have an overall great product.
